Greg's 2022 NFL Picks: The Championship Edition

I swept through the divisional round, getting all 4 games correct. That included my correct prediction on the Buffalo Bills, who should start to worry about their window closing faster than they think. So let's get to the title games.

Niners @ Eagles: No rookie QB has ever made it all the way to the Super Bowl (the closest I think was Mark Sanchez with the Jets) and for some reason, I think that will continue. Purdy didn't look great against Dallas (he looked better than Dak), and Philly's defense is not a major step down from Dallas'. I think Philly wins a close game and the Niners have a QB dilemma on their hands.

Victory: Eagles

Bengals @ Chiefs: I originally was going to go with the Bengals. But then I began to think. First off, the Bengals are really playing up their ownership of the Chiefs of late with the whole "Burrowhead
thing. That's a bit disconcerting. Secondly, the reason the Bengals were able to shut down the Bills was that the Bills are kind of one dimensional. The Chiefs are not. And the name to watch out for is Isaiah Pacheco, the ex-Rutgers running back. He has been a difference maker for them. And I think he will be the difference in this game.

Victory: Chiefs

Greg's 2022 NFL Picks: Divisional Round

Well, the numbers are in:

During this season, I went 107-89 against the spread and 174-95 in the victory column. I think that's pretty damn good if you ask me. So well done me.

Last week, I went 5-1 in my playoff picks, only missing on the fading Tom Brady and Bucs. But now we are down to 4 games. Remember no spread is applicable. Here they are:

Jaguars @ Chiefs: I can see the Jags keeping this close for maybe a half but then the Chiefs pulling away. Just too much veteran presence there.

Victory: Chiefs

Giants @ Eagles: This one is bothering me a bit, but I think the Giants finally meet their match. Hurts should be healthier than he was a couple of weeks ago and in general, the Eagles seem like the healthier team. Giants should be in range, but I think the Eagles pull it out.

Victory: Eagles

Bengals @ Bills: UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!           I know that the Bengals are down a couple of OL but remember last year they got to the Super Bowl with a subpar offensive line as well. But I'm taking this show because of the Bills. They have been very aloof on offense all year. Last week was no exception. And I think it's going to bite them now. Josh Allen, I think, has been missing the guidance of Brian Daboll all year, and I think it ends now.

Victory: Bengals

Cowboys @ 49ers: Dallas has not gone to an NFC title game since 1996. And I don't think they get there this year. Why? Dak is too mercurial. He had a great game against Tampa Bay, but I don't know if he can repeat it. I expect this to be a lower scoring affair. And I will go with the home team to get it done in the end.

Victory: Niners

Greg's NFL Picks: Wild Card Weekend

I don't have exact totals from last week, because I'm currently watching a movie. But I am going to put in my playoff picks. I don't go for spreads in the playoffs, because it is win or go home. Winning is all that matters.

Seahawks @ Niners: Seattle really struggled down the stretch. And the Niners are on a roll and at home. Give me San Fran....

Victory: Niners

Chargers @ Jaguars:  I hate the Chargers here. The Jaguars are hot. And Brandon Staley's job is on the line after the Mike Williams fiasco. I have been down on them all year and I will continue to be so.

Victory: Chargers

Dolphins @ Bills: Goodbye Miami

Victory: Bills

Giants @ Vikings: UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm jumping on the Giants bandwagon. They are healthy and they played Minnesota close 2 weeks ago. Daboll, despite not being a head coach in a playoff game, probably has more playoff experience than O'Connell. I am going with the G-Men

Victory: Giants

Ravens @ Bengals:  No Lamar for the Ravens spells trouble for them. And I wonder if this might be the end of the John Harbaugh era in Baltimore. I don't know, just a hunch.

Victory: Bengals

Cowboys @ Buccaneers: This one might be the toughest game to call. And honestly, I'm torn. So, what do I do? CALL FOR MORE CHAOS! ANOTHER UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!! The Buccaneers beat Dallas and Mike McCarthy goes away crying. Why not?

Victory: Bucs

Greg's 2022 NFL Picks Week 18

Had a bad week against the spread (3-7) and a meh week in the victory column (8-6). But because Damar Hamlin appears to have made a great recovery, we are all winners. My season totals

Points: 100-82

Victories: 160-91

Will keep it quick this week to wrap up the season

Chiefs (-9) @ Raiders:

Points: Raiders    Victory: Chiefs

Titans @ Jaguars (-6.5)

Points: Jags    Victory: Jags

Patriots @ Bills (-7.5): Prediction: Damar will appear in a video before the game to rile up the crowd. Pats have NO shot.

Points: Bills    Victory: Bills

Ravens @ Bengals (-9.5)

Points: Ravens    Victory: Bengals

Vikings (-6) @ Bears:  No Justin Fields so....yeah

Points: Vikings    Victory: Vikings

Jets @ Dolphins (-3): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!
This is what the Jets always seem to do. They are out of contention, and they win a meaningless game at the end of the year in order to hurt their draft position. Plus, Miami's defense gave up 40 to Zach Wilson. That's not good for them.

Points: Jets     Victory: Jets

Browns @ Steelers (-2.5): PICK'EM!  If my predictions are correct, the Steelers will be in the playoffs.

Victory: Steelers

Buccaneers @ Falcons (-4):

Points: Falcons    Victory: Falcons

Panthers @ Saints (-3.5): ANOTHER UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!
Panthers have played solidly to end the season, and I think they want to show out for Steve Wilks. And once again, the Saints are ???????

Points: Panthers     Victory: Panthers

Texans @ Colts (-2.5): PICK'EM #2!

Victory: Colts

Giants @ Eagles (-14):  Still too big for my taste. I think Daboll will play it as straight as possible

Points: Giants    Victory: Eagles

Cowboys (-7) @ Commanders

Points: Cowboys    Victory: Cowboys

Cardinals @ 49ers (-14)

Points: Niners (begrudgingly)     Victory: Niners

Rams @ Seahawks (-6):

Points: Seahawks   Victory: Seahawks

Chargers @ Broncos (-3):

Points: Broncos     Victory: Broncos

Lions @ Packers (-5):

Points: Packers    Victory: Packers
