Here we go. Four teams remain and there are some interesting elements. Here are my two conference championship picks.
Chiefs @ Ravens: I know Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL right now. But to me, the Ravens are the most complete of the 4 teams remaining. I think this is the Ravens' moment. Their defense is hard to crack, and with the Chiefs lack of elite weapons outside of Travis Kelce, the Ravens will be tough to move against. I will take the Ravens in the AFC.
Victory: Ravens
Lions @ 49ers: I love the Lions in this spot for 3 essential reasons:
1. Deebo Samuel has been limited all week in practice. He will play for sure, but his effectiveness might be dampened. And the Niners are a much different offense without an effective Samuel.
2. Jared Goff has been there and done that in the postseason. He went to a Super Bowl with the Rams. Meanwhile, Brock Purdy got hurt last year at this same level. And he has been on a downward slope towards the end of the year.
3. The Lions' defense might be somewhat maligned, but one area they have been effective this year has been against the run. They were 3rd in the NFL in yards per carry against. So Christian McCaffrey is going to have a problem against that defense. putting even more pressure on Purdy.
I think the Lions go into San Fran. and pull off the upset.
Victory: Lions
