Greg's NFL Picks: Week 5

 I had a bad week last week. A lot of chaos happened (besides my upset pick which I got totally wrong) so I suffered, particularly in the victory department. I went 5-5 against the spread, but I went 6-10 in the victory column. Oh well. That brings my season total to:

Points: 20-15

Victories: 28-20

Need to do better this week, so let's give it a go:

Cowboys (-5) @ Giants: I'm not bold enough to try the upset pick on Thursday twice, but the Giants come into this game with momentum. I will split the difference in this game. Plus its an NFC East game so throw conventional wisdom out.

Broncos @ Jets (-7.5): If the Broncos had come in having won a close game or lost to Tampa, this would be a typical trap game setup. Instead, the Broncos dominated Tampa, so they should have the Jets' attention. However, the hook scared me a bit. So I am also going to split the difference.

Vikings @ Packers (-3): Going with Brian Flores' defense.

Steelers (-1.5) @ Colts: PICK'EM!

Victory: Steelers

Eagles (-1.5) @ Buccaneers: PICK'EM!

Bengals (-4.5) @ Panthers: Bengals have to win a game at some point, right?

Jaguars @ Texans (-6.5):

Rams @ Bears (-3): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!

Bears are a mess offensively. Rams showed guts and determination beating the Niners last week and McVay is a much better coach than Eberflus. Give me the Rams on the road.

Saints @ Falcons (-2.5): PICK'EM!

Patriots @ 49ers (-10.5): I think it's a little too high, especially since the Niners are banged up.

Commanders @ Cardinals (-3.5): Shootout. Pure and simple. I'll split the difference because I don't really have an angle.

Chiefs (-7) @ Chargers: Money line is right on the dot for me.

Bills @ Ravens (-2.5): PICK'EM! Don't trust the Ravens at all.

Greg's 2024 NFL Picks: Week #3

 An iffy week for me last week, I went 8-5 against the spread but only 9-7 in the victory column. I did nail my second straight upset pick of the week though. 

That brings my season totals to:

Victory: 22-10

Patriots @ Jets (-6): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pats and Jets are both coming in on a short week. Jets are banged up defensively, and the Pats have run the ball very well their first two weeks. Plus, Brissett has good numbers against the Jets in his career I feel.

Giants @ Browns (-6.5): Giants have to prove to me they can win, but they played well enough against Washington that I think they can keep it close.

Greg's 2024 NFL Picks: Week #2

 Off to a good start this year. I went 8-5 against the spread (getting hooked a couple of times) and 13-3 in the victory column.

I nailed my upset pick of the week (even without Russell Wilson playing) so let's try and do it again, shall we?

Giants @ Commanders (-2): PICK'EM! Giants better win, The fact that they aren't favored against a team that they usually beat isn't a good sign, but I will go with history

Two teams that are meh and kind of similar. I think the Browns, having been blasted by Dallas last week come into this game with a little more motivation and get the upset win.

Greg's 2024 NFL Picks Week #1

 Well here we are again, another NFL season right around the corner. This is the 3rd or 4th year that I have done this, and it is an interesting exercise. But over the years, I've tried to streamline it a bit. The one thing I have decided to do is just give the picks. Because sometimes I just don't have a feeling about said games. I will try and make a comment about the two local teams if I feel like it.

As people know I pick two ways: The actual game and against the spread, provided by Draft Kings.com at the time of the picking. Remember under 3 points is a pick'em game. And I win pushes. My game, my rules.

So without further adieu, let's play the game.
