I think I would be under way too much pressure if I ended up doing this for a living. But I probably by this point have the credentials to do so. This is just a roundabout way of saying that I had a great week once again. I went 8-2 against the spread and 9-4 in the victory column (Including Thursday). Which brings my take this season to:
Points: 87-64
Victories: 132-73
Let's roll on.
Colts @ Vikings (-3.5): Vikings have been humbled recently, but they should handle the Colts with somewhat ease. I'll take Minnesota.
Points: Vikings Victory: Vikings
Ravens @ Browns (-2.5) PICK'EM! Tough, but I think the Ravens are used to playing with Tyler Huntley at QB. And I don't know if Watson is really ready to explode. I will take Baltimore in a close one.
Victory: Ravens
Dolphins @ Bills (-7): Last week. the Bills showed they could play smashmouth football and they will have to again in the bad weather to beat Miami. The spread scares me a little but I will go with Buffalo to at least push.
Points: Bills Victory: Bills
Eagles (-8.5) @ Bears: The Eagles are probably the one team most suited to stop Justin Fields because of Jalen Hurts. Give me Philly once again.
Points: Eagles Victory: Eagles
Lions (-1) @ Jets: PICK'EM #2! Even with the announcement that Zach Wilson would start, the line has barely moved. This is a pick'em all the way. I have to go with Detroit based on momentum and health, but it could go either way.
Victory: Lions
Cowboys (-4) @ Jaguars: Interesting line, but I think the Cowboys survived their scare against Houston and took the lesson. Trevor Lawrence has played well, but this defense is another kettle of fish.
I will take Dallas.
Points: Cowboys Victory: Cowboys
Chiefs (-14) @ Texans: This time, I will heed the lesson. Chiefs usually win, but they don't usually cover. I will take the 14 points.
EDIT: Just found out Dameon Pierce is out. I will go with the Chiefs instead. Maybe a push
Points: Chiefs Victory: Chiefs
Steelers @ Panthers (-3): Panthers still have a shot in the woeful NFC South and they have a winning record at home. I will take the Panthers to win.
Points: Panthers Victory: Panthers
Falcons @ Saints (-4): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!
The Saints are just there. They're blah. But the Falcons have new excitement with Desmond Ridder making his NFL debut. Dennis Allen is really under fire in New Orleans as they play out the string, so I will go with Ridder to add some spark and lead the Falcons to the road win.
Points: Falcons Victory: Falcons
Patriots (-1.5) @ Raiders: PICK'EM #3! Sneaky interesting game here. McDaniels wants to beat Belichick and the Pats looked meh against the Cardinals. I just don't trust McDaniels enough to get it to the finish line. Pats win another ugly game.
Victory: Pats
Cardinals @ Broncos (-1.5): PICK'EM #4! Colt McCoy vs. Brett Rypien! Have fun. I'll take the Broncos because they have the best unit on the field, but that's not a ringing endorsement.
Victory: Broncos
Bengals (-3.5) @ Buccaneers: Give me the Bengals to win another quality game.
Points: Bengals Victory: Bengals
Titans @ Chargers (-3): The only reason I worry about the Chargers here is because they're the Chargers. But let's trust them for once and we'll see.
Points: Chargers Victory: Chargers
Giants @ Commanders (-5): I think the Giants might be too banged up to win this game, but its an NFC East game. Always count on a close game (most of the time).
Points: Giants Victory: Commies
Rams @ Packers (-7): Interesting game. I think the Packers will win, but I don't trust their offense enough to cover the 7 points. Plus Baker played well in his first action and should grow. I will split the difference here.
Points: Rams Victory: Packers
