A meh week for me this time with a special stipulation. I went 5-5 against the spread and 9-5 in the victory column. The special stipulation was that I did not give myself credit for the Giants Commies game, as it ended in a tie. I know usually ties go to me, but I decided not to take the win for that because honestly, neither team won. I didn't score it a loss either, so it is essentially null and void. My season total is now:
Points: 79-62
Victories: 123-69
Onto the picks:
Eagles (-7.5) @ Giants: With Saquon questionable. I don't think the Giants have a prayer. I take the Eagles.
Points: Eagles Victory: Eagles
Jets @ Bills (-10): Have to split here. Buffalo's offense has not clicked on all cylinders, and they may be missing several key defensive players, despite the extra rest. Bills win, but they don't cover.
Points: Jets Victory: Bills
Vikings @ Lions (-2): PICK'EM! I know the Lions have played better, but again, the experience in close games should favor Minnesota. I will take them.
Victory: Vikings
Browns @ Bengals (-5.5): Revenge game for the Bengals, who seem to be pushing at the right time. I will take them at home with the points.
Points: Bengals Victory: Bengals
Texans @ Cowboys (-17): Eeeeeek, this spread is dangerous. But I have to go with Dallas because Houston is in full tank mode. Very reluctantly, I will go Cowboys.
Points: Cowboys Victory: Cowboys
Jaguars @ Titans (-3.5): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKK!!!!!!!!!!!
I had two upset picks in mind which were iffy at best. I think this one is the least iffy, so I'm going with this one. Both teams coming off beatdowns. Trevor Lawrence should be back for this game. The gameplan to beat Tennessee is very clear, and the Jags are good defensively. I will go with Jacksonville.
Points: Jaguars Victory: Jaguars
Ravens @ Steelers (-2): PICK'EM #2! Steelers have been sneaking up of late and no Lamar kind of mucks it for me. Give me Pittsburgh at home.
Victory: Steelers
Chiefs (-9) @ Broncos: I'm done with Denver. If the Broncos could not win that game last week, I don't know how they win again. That being said, Chiefs don't really cover so I will take the points, reluctantly.
Points: Broncos Victory: Chiefs
Buccaneers @ 49ers (-3.5): This was my other upset pick option, as QBs starting their first game against Tom Brady are 0-6 lifetime. But I think the Niners defense shuts down Brady, and Brock Purdy will manage the Niners to a win.
Points: Niners Victory: Niners
Panthers @ Seahawks (-3.5): Truth be told. This game has snuck up on me. This has trap game written all over it for Seattle. They get the Niners next week on a short week. However, they've already gotten caught in a trap against the Raiders 2 weeks ago. I don't think they lose, but the possibility is so open that I think I'm going to split the difference.
Points: Panthers Victory: Seahawks
Dolphins (-3.5) @ Chargers: If the Dolphins lose this game, I will have no respect for them. They have to win this game, especially to keep up in the AFC East. Give me Miami
Points: Dolphins Victory: Dolphins
Patriots (-2) @ Cardinals: PICK'EM #3! Cardinals can beat this Pats team if they play focused and at their ability. The problem is that they rarely play at that level. I think the Pats win but close.
Victory: Pats
