I had a great week last week. Not good, a GREAT week. 8-3 against the spread (including the Dick Butkus remembering Chicago Bears. If I had known he died before I made the pick, I would have probably split. I believe in that kind of juju). And 11-5 in the victory column. Which brings my record to:
Points: 18-17
Victory: 29-19
Now here are my picks for this week:
Jaguars @ Bills (-5.5): Jaguars are a good team, but the Bills are on a roll. However, the Jaguars are already in London so the Bills might have to play catchup on the clock. And the Bills might have a letdown after blowing out Miami. I think the Bills win but the jet lag prevents the cover.
Points: Jaguars Victory: Bills
Giants @ Dolphins (-12.5): Normally I stay away from the high spreads, but the Giants are bad; they're injured. I don't know how they keep this close. So I will give the 12.5 away.
Points: Dolphins Victory: Dolphins
Panthers @ Lions (-10): I'm with the Panthers as I said last week. Lions will win by 10 points.
Points: Lions Victory: Lions
Ravens (-4.5) @ Steelers: Kenny Pickett will play but not Pat Friermuth, the Steelers TE who has 2 TDs this year. This line is respectful of the rivalry, but Ravens are in a much better shape right now.
Points: Ravens Victory: Ravens
Texans @ Falcons (-1.5): PICK'EM! I'm in on Houston. They have a good mojo going right now. Atlanta still bothers me. I will take Houston.
Victory: Texans
Titans (-2.5) @ Colts: PICK'EM! Very odd line. The Colts are not great defensively. But Tennessee is too Jekyll and Hyde for me to back. I'll take the Colts
Victory: Colts
Saints @ Patriots (-1): PICK'EM! This could be the most boring game in the history of the NFL. Two teams that struggle to score and have good defenses. I know the Pats defense is banged up, but I will take New England because of reputation. Sorry. I have no interest in this game.
Victory: Patriots
Eagles (-4) @ Rams: I have to respect the Eagles for what they have done, but the Rams will get Cooper Kupp back. I'm going to split the difference here. The Eagles have not really been impressive yet and the Rams can play a bit.
Points: Rams Victory: Eagles
Bengals (-3) @ Cardinals: UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why should I believe in the Bengals? They have given me nothing to be excited about. The Cardinals, on the other hand, have been competitive in every game. They're at home. Maybe the Bengals get up finally, but I don't know. Give me the Cardinals at home.
Points: Cardinals Victory: Cardinals
Chiefs (-3.5) @ Vikings: Vikings have the offense to keep up with KC, but I just can't trust them. Besides you know the NFL wants to keep the Swifties happy hehehe..... However, I will split the difference because of their offense and the possible hook.
Points: Vikings Victory: Chiefs
Jets @ Broncos (-2.5): PICK'EM! The loss of DJ Reed at corner scares me, but the Jets have had this game circled all season. I think Hackett will go pedal to the medal and if Wilson (Zach) plays like he did against KC, the Jets will win comfortably. As it is, I will pick the Jets to get revenge.
Victory: Jets
Cowboys @ 49ers (-3.5): Niners haven't really been tested yet by a quality defense. This is the week for that. I think the Niners will end up winning, but I think it's going to be very close. And the hook is in Dallas's favor. I will take those points and pick the Niners to win.
Points: Cowboys Victory: Niners
Packers @ Raiders (-1): PICK'EM! I know the Packers got steamrolled by the Lions last Thursday, but I can't trust the Raiders. Adams has a shoulder injury, Josh Jacobs is having a down year and the QB situation is in flux. Give me the Packers as the more stable team.
Victory: Packers
