Greg's QUICK NFL Picks Week #12

Combining last week with the 4 Thanksgiving holiday games, I went 9-4 against the spread and 9-8 in the victory column. That brings my season total to:

Points: 59-48

Victories: 90-60

Here are my quick picks for Week 12.

Jaguars (-1.5) @ Texans: PICK'EM!

Victory: Texans

Patriots (-3.5) @ Giants: Was going to be my upset pick but too many defensive injuries for the Giants. But I will split.

Points: Giants    Victory: Patriots

Panthers @ Titans (-3.5):

Points: Titans   Victory: Titans

Steelers (-2) @ Bengals: PICK'EM!

Victory: Steelers

Buccaneers @ Colts (-2.5): PICK'EM!

Victory: Colts

Saints (-1.5) @ Falcons: PICK'EM!

Victory: Saints

Browns @ Broncos (1.5): PICK'EM!

Victory: Broncos

Rams (-2.5) @ Cardinals: PICK'EM!

Victory: Cardinals

Bills @ Eagles (-3): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Points: Bills    Victory: Bills

Chiefs (-9) @ Raiders:

Points: Raiders    Victory: Chiefs

Ravens (-3) @ Chargers

Bears @ Vikings (-3)

Points: Vikings   Victory: Vikings

Greg's NFL Picks: Week #11

I had another great week against the spread, going 8-2 on it, including the Thursday Night game. On the victories side, I went 9-5. The season total:

Points: 50-44

Victories: 81-52

This week promises to be very difficult. Let's see what I can do.

Cowboys (-10.5) @ Panthers: There is a possibility of a letdown by the Cowboys, but I don't know if Carolina is good enough to take advantage of that. I will take Dallas and give the points away.

Points: Cowboys    Victory: Cowboys

Bears @ Lions (-7.5): I do sense a bit of a letdown with the Lions but I do think the Bears can keep it under a TD because Justin Fields is coming back, and he has played decently at times. And I have the hook. I think the Lions win but I will take the points.

Points: Bears     Victory: Lions

Raiders @ Dolphins (-13.5): Dolphins can take command of the AFC East and I think they will. Raiders really haven't impressed in their 2 wins, and I don't think they impress here.

Points: Dolphins    Victory: Dolphins

Giants @ Commanders (-8.5): As bad as the Giants have been, I think they can keep it close with Washington. Washington has to tame these demons themselves. I think the Commies win, but it's gonna be under the number. Show me, Washington.

Points: Giants    Victory: Commies

Cardinals @ Texans (-6): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!
The Texans are a young team coming off a big win against the Bengals. This has the potential to be a trap. Especially given that Kyler Murray is back in the fold for Arizona. Texans are also a little banged up on the OL. I think Arizona brings them back down to Earth a bit.

Points: Cardinals   Victory: Cardinals

Titans @ Jaguars (-7): Jaguars need a bounce back and I think they get it.

Points: Jaguars   Victory: Jaguars

Steelers @ Browns (-1.5): PICK'EM! The Steelers seemingly have walked into great luck with the opposing QBs that they are facing. I like their chances vs. DTR and the Browns.

Victory: Steelers

Chargers (-3) @ Packers: I'm kind of torn. I don't trust the Chargers at all but I don't know if the Packers are good enough offensively to keep up. I think the Chargers will cover, but I'm not crazy about it.

Points: Chargers   Victory: Chargers

Buccaneers @ 49ers (-12): That's a big number but I don't know if Tampa will be able to stay on the field long enough to wear down the Niners defense. I will take the Niners and give the points away, a little hesitantly.

Points: Niners   Victory: Niners

Jets @ Bills (-7): This is right on the line where I would take Buffalo. At 8 or 9, I would probably go with the Jets, because I don't trust Buffalo. And Zach Wilson, for as bad as he has been, is 2-1 against Buffalo. I think Buffalo wins and covers, but barely.

Points: Bills    Victory: Bills

Seahawks (-1) @ Rams: PICK'EM! Seattle's defense is proving to be very capable and I think they will be the difference against the Rams.

Victory: Seahawks

Vikings @ Broncos (-2): PICK'EM! I love the Broncos in this game because of their defense. Their defense has really come on of late against Kansas City and Buffalo and now I think they will stop the magic man, Josh Dobbs.

Victory: Broncos

Eagles @ Chiefs (-2.5): PICK'EM! Both teams coming off their byes so no rest advantage. I'll take Kansas City because I trust them more to give me an all out effort. Philly, I'm still ehhhh on. I'll take the Chiefs.

Victory: Chiefs

Greg's NFL Picks: Week #10

A very meh week for me. Both of my upset picks failed, one in excruciating fashion. I went 3-5 against the spread and 9-4 in the victory column. That brings my record to:

Points: 42-42

Victories: 72-47

I'm going to keep it short and sweet this week because I'm kind of tired after working. So let's do it.

Colts (-2) @ Patriots: ZE PICK'EM! Pats may be in tank mode. Going for the Colts

Victory: Colts

Niners (-3) @ Jaguars: Key is that Deebo Samuel is tracking to play and he makes their offense go. I think the Niners bounce back with Deebo back in the fold.

Points: Niners   Victory: Niners

Browns @ Ravens (-6.5): I think the Ravens win, but I think the point spread is too high for two powerful defenses.

Points: Browns   Victory: Ravens

Texans @ Bengals (-6): Lou Anarumo, the Bengals DC, is going to have some treats ready for CJ Stroud and the Bengals will continue to rise in the AFC.

Points: Bengals   Victory: Bengals

Saints (-3) @ Vikings: UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justin Jefferson may be back for this game after missing several weeks with a hammy. But even then, how can I go against Josh Dobbs and what he's done. Plus, the Saints still bother me and they're on the road. Give me Minnesota.

Points: Vikings    Victory: Vikings

Packers @ Steelers (-3): In the words of Steelers fan and YouTuber UrinatingTree : STILLERS GAHNTA SUPA BAWL! Give me the Steelers

Points: Steelers    Victory: Steelers

Titans @ Buccaneers (-1): PICK'EM! Tampa's defense got shredded last week by CJ Stroud, so why would I think that Will Levis couldn't do the same. Give me Tennessee on the road.

Victory: Titans

Lions (-3) @ Chargers: Chargers didn't impress me Monday Night. That game should have been over by halftime. Lions will take them out.

Points: Lions   Victory: Lions

Falcons (-2) @ Cardinals: PICK'EM! The return of Kyler Murray should spark the Cardinals' offense a bit and the Falcons black magic will continue to run out.

Victory: Cardinals

Giants @ Cowboys (-17): This has to be the biggest point spread I have covered in my 3-4 years doing this. But I'm going to give them away. I think. after a heartbreaking loss to Philly, Dallas will be looking to flex their muscles and take their frustrations out on the Giants. Barely, but I think Dallas covers.

Points: Cowboys   Victory: Cowboys

Commanders @ Seahawks (-6): Just like the Cowboys, I think Seattle wants to take some rage out after being humiliated by the Ravens. And Sam Howell, despite being a solid passer, is still getting sacked at a big rate. I will take Seattle to win by a TD.

Points: Seahawks   Victory: Seahawks

Jets (-1) @ Raiders: This pick is simply based on the fact that nobody expects the Jets to win. And that is usually when the Jets win. That, and the fact that despite all that has happened this week, the Jets are still favored on the road. I'll take the Jets in a close one.

Victory: Jets

Broncos @ Bills (-7): I think the Bills win, but I don't trust them to keep separate from Denver enough to cover. Denver showed some defensive prowess last week against KC, and the Bills defense is still suspect. I'll split the difference.

Points: Broncos    Victory: Bills

Greg's NFL Picks: Week #9

I had a solid week last week. I hit a couple of pushes on the spreads, and thusly, went 7-5 against the spread. I went 10-6 in the victory column to bring my season totals to:

Points: 39-37

Victories: 63-43

So let's get on with it:

Dolphins @ Chiefs (-2): ZE PICK'EM! From Germany, I think that the Chiefs were caught in a trap last week looking forward to this game. This should be a shootout in the morning, I think the Chiefs are more used to this spotlight, so I'm going with them, but I'm not overly confident.

Victory: Chiefs

Seahawks @ Ravens (-6): Ravens are on a roll; they lost the cover in the last minute against Arizona but they still put the foot to the pedal. Seattle stole a game against the Browns (dammit) so this has a bit of spite in it. Ravens easily (famous last words).

Points: Ravens    Victory: Ravens

Bears @ Saints (-8.5): The line scares me a bit, but the Saints are coming off their best offensive performace of the year against the Colts. And the Bears' pass defense is god awful. And I think the Saints defense will keep Bagent in line. Somewhat reluctantly, I will give the points and take the Saints.

Points: Saints     Victory: Saints

Cardinals @ Browns (-10): Whoever is playing QB for the Browns, they should have no problem for the Cardinals at this point. They were lucky to cover the previous week. Not again.

Points: Browns   Victory: Browns

Vikings @ Falcons (-4): I like the QB switch for Atlanta at this point, especially playing a Minnesota team stuck in between Cousins and Josh Dobbs (Jalen Hall will get the start). I will take Atlanta, and they better win IMO.

Points: Falcons    Victory: Falcons

Buccaneers @ Texans (-3): Two similar teams. I would lean Tampa because of their veteran experience but I do have some respect for what Houston has done. And they should be annoyed coming off a bad loss to the Panthers. I will split the difference here.

Points: Bucs    Victory: Texans

Commanders @ Patriots (-2.5): PICK'EM! Commies/Pats: THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN. I'll go with New England because I don't really like where Washington is right now. They sold off Young and Swear so they seem to be giving up, although they haven't said that.

Victory: Pats

Rams @ Packers (-3): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both teams come into this game down, but IMO, the Packers have been a slight disappointment of late, while the Rams have been kind of what people thought they would be, Packers are also banged up on defense which does not help them, including Quay Walker, their leading tackler. I'll take the Rams to get the bounce back.

Points: Rams    Victory: Rams

Colts (-2.5) @ Panthers: PICK'EM! I'm going to take the Colts for one simple reason, The Panthers have not had a game all year in which they've given up less than 100 yards rushing. The Colts come in 6th in the NFL in yards per attempt and 9th in total yards. I think the Colts will run the Panthers into the ground.

Victory: Colts

Cowboys @ Eagles (-3): ANOTHER UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, for the first time this year, I'm pulling out the double. This game to me comes down to matchups. The Cowboys have not been the ground attacking team they've been in the past. They've gone more to the air. And Philly's secondary has been a mess for a while. On the defensive side, DaRon Bland has played very well in the absence of Trevon Diggs and Hurts not only has had more turnovers this year but has a banged-up knee which could limit his mobility. I'm taking Dallas to go into Philly and take out the Eagles.

Points: Cowboys    Victory: Cowboys

Giants @ Raiders (-1.5): PICK'EM! Usually when a team fires a head coach or a manager midstream, there is a game or two of a bounce up. All reports are that Raiders players are all in on Antonio Pierce. Besides that, the Giants have done a lot of whining about the officiating at the end of the Jets game last week. That's not a good mindset to have going into a football game. The Giants should win, but I don't think they are in the right mindset. I will take the Raiders.

Victory: Raiders

Bills @ Bengals (-2): PICK'EM! I love Cincy here. They seem to have found themselves and are starting to hit their stride. The Bills are still.....just there. They need to show me that they can overcome those two major injuries to win against a great opponent. I will take the Bengals.

Victory: Bengals

Chargers (-3.5) @ Jets: I'm going to split the difference here. Chargers should win, but the Jets have played teams close basically all year; and the Chargers have to come east to cold temperatures which could slow down their offense. I'm not ballsy enough to pick the upset here, but I could see it happening. For now, I'm taking the 3.5.

Points: Jets    Victory: Chargers
