I bounced back in a big way last week, although I got killed in the late games. 8-6 against the spread and 10-6 the game itself(caught my Lions typo, hehe). That brings my 2 week total to:
14-14 against the spread
19-13 picking straight
Once again, the odds are provided by the DraftKings Sportsbook and without further ado....
CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Panthers (-8.5) @ Texans: Sam Darnold, while not flashy, has been effective in the first two games. But the real key is the fact that Davis Mills is now starting QB for the Texans. That spells trouble. Give the points away even on the road.
Points: Panthers Victory: Panthers
Cardinals (-7.5) @ Jaguars: That was a huge win for Arizona last week as it showed that it could handle prosperity. Now they get a Jacksonville team that is completely over its head. However the hook is scaring me a bit. Hesitantly, I will give the points away
Points: Cardinals Victory: Cardinals
Ravens (-7.5) @ Lions: The Ravens have to be careful here. Coming a MASSIVE Sunday night win against the Chiefs, the trap may be waiting for them in Detroit. And their defense has been a disappointment this year. I'm taking the points in this case, but the Ravens will win
Points: Lions Victory: Ravens
WFT @ Bills (-7.5): The Bills reasserted their dominance last week and now I think they're going to do the same to Washington, who were lucky to squeak by the Giants last week. Bills by a lot
Points: Bills Victory: Bills
Chargers @ Chiefs (-6.5): The worst thing that could have happened to the Chargers was the Chiefs losing that game last week. They are angry and out for blood. Chargers, as usual, gave away a game that they should have won "at home". Not this week. They won't have a chance
Points: Chiefs Victory: Chiefs
Titans (-5) @ Colts: The Colts currently are in QB limbo as they fell victim to the walking injury, Carson Wentz. And that is a big factor in this game, because the Tennessee defense has been blaaaaaaaaaaah. As of Thursday, I am not expecting Wentz to play and thusly I think Tennessee wins by a TD.
Points: Titans Victory: Titans
Bears @ Browns (-7): Sneaky good game possibility. What will Justin Fields bring to the party in his first start? If it's anything like last week, they are in trouble. This one is very close to me. But I will give the Browns the benefit of the doubt and hope that they can exploit the rookie QB.
Points: Browns Victory: Browns
Falcons @ Giants (-3): This is it for the Giants. The fork in the road. They HAVE to win this game. Otherwise I feel the season will spiral out of control given their schedule. And I think that Joe Judge and crew will get the job done.
Points: Giants Victory: Giants
Saints @ Patriots (-3): This might be the game where Mac Jones will have to make a few plays himself instead of managing the game only. Will he be capable? I think he could be. And after picking off Zach Wilson 4 times last week, what will they do against the Human Pick Machine, Jameis Winston?
Points: Pats Victory: Pats
Bengals @ Steelers (-3): I am ACHING over this one. The Steelers are really banged up, but the Bengals let me down last week. And the Bengals are 8-24 against Big Ben. I think the Steelers losing to the Raiders last week might get them up for this game so I think I will split the difference
Points: Bengals Victory: Steelers
Jets @ Broncos (-10): I absolutely HATE this line. Broncos might walking into a bit of a trap after starting 2-0; the Jets defense has been very solid so far, and it would be very hard pressed for Zach Wilson to have a worse game than he did last week. Gimme those points.
Points: Jets Victory: Broncos
Dolphins @ Raiders (-4.5): This is what the Jets Broncos line should have been along with this game. Raiders are another team that might be walking into a bit of a trap. Jacoby Brissett has shown to be a capable QB in the NFL and the Dolphins will be looking for payback after getting blown out by Buffalo last week. I will take the Raiders with the points, albeit reluctantly.
Points: Raiders Victory: Raiders
Buccaneers (-1.5) @ Rams: PICK'EM!!!!!! I know the Rams are at home and I know Stafford has been solid. I can't pick against Brady and the Bucs at this point. They are rolling to begin.
Victory: Bucs
Seahawks (-1.5) @ Vikings: PICK'EM #2 !!!!!!! Just like with the Giants, this is do or die time for Minnesota after two heartbreaking losses. Unfortunately, like the Chargers, they get an opponent who should very pissed. Seattle gave the Titans a win last week and they want to make up for it.
Victory: Seahawks
Packers @ 49ers (-3): UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKK!!!
Let's be honest. The Niners have been unimpressive so far this year. They almost gave up a huge lead to Detroit in Week 1 and then allowed an inferior Eagles team to hang around in Week 2. Packers are still trying to make up for the disaster in Week 1. I think the Packers go in and get a hard fought victory.
Points: Packers Victory: Packers
Eagles @ Cowboys (-3): ANOTHER UPSET PICK OF THE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKK!!!!!!
This is one that I did not think about when starting to type this out, but I began to think. Dallas is without Collins at RT and Gallup at WR. Cooper has bruised ribs as well. They are a few flags away from being 0-2. As for Philly, if they want to be taken seriously, they need to win this game. I think they will. I am sticking my neck out for this one.
Points: Eagles Victory: Eagles
